A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 5th, 2007 for 90-year-old Hilda J. (Meyer) Hoog of Ste. Genevieve, who died Monday, September 3rd at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living.

She was born February 23rd, 1917 in Dexter, the daughter of Henry and Regina (Guethle) Meyer, who both preceded her in death.

She married Emil F. Hoog on May 24th, 1942. He survives in Ste. Genevieve.

She is also survived by three sons and daughters in law: Wayne F. and Cheryl Hoog, Kenneth F. and Mary Jean Hoog and Royce R. and Michelle Hoog, all of Ste. Genevieve; a daughter and son in law, Lorraine "Suzy" and Kenneth Wolk of New Offenburg; a son in law, Wayne F. Basler of Ste. Genevieve; a sister, Leona Herman of Ste. Genevieve; 22 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Basler; a son, Daniel E. Hoog; five brothers, Joseph H. Meyer, Ben Meyer, Edward Meyer, Felix Meyer and Oscar Meyer; a sister, Theresa Meyer and a brother, Henry "Bud" Meyer.

She was a member of the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Sodality of Mary and Western Catholic Union.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. this (Tuesday, September 4th) afternoon and evening at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 90-year-old Hilda J. (Meyer) Hoog will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Ste. Genevieve Preservation Foundation, Valle Schools Foundation, American Cancer Society or to masses.
