A funeral will be held Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 for 89-year-old Gilbert J. Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve, who died Wednesday, November 21st at his residence.

He was born September 22nd, 1918 in Minnith, the son of Percival and Elnora (Hermann) Heberlie, who both preceded him in death.

He married Frances M. Beasley on August 7th, 1940. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by seven sons and five daughters in law, Gilbert J. Jr. and Joan Heberlie of Festus, Gary and Gloria Heberlie of Minnith, Tommy and Bonnie Heberlie of Festus, Larry and Bev Heberlie of Minnith, Percy Heberlie of Highlands, Jerry Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve and Terry and Rosa Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve; four daughters and sons in law, Judy and Dave Jett of Ste. Genevieve, Paula and John Jakust of Highlands, Texas, Tina and Mark Schweigert of Ozora and Karen and Tom Boland of Minnith; a son in law, Sanford Roth Jr. of Minnith; two sisters in law, Mary Heberlie and Gladys Heberlie; 37 grandchildren; and 51 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Lee Gowen and Sharon Roth; a son in law, Lyman Gowan; three brothers, Hubert John Heberlie, Patrick Del Monte Heberlie and Herman Heberie and one grandchild.

He was a member of the Indiana State Council of Roofers. He was a roofer in St. Louis and also a farmer. He retired in 1983.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, November 26th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 89-year-old Gilbert J. Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27th at St. Catherine Church in Coffman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. James Schaefer will officiate.
