John Peter Bequette

A funeral will be held Friday, July 6th, 2007 for 74-year-old John Peter Bequette of Ste. Genevieve, who died Wednesday, July 4th at his home.

He was born July 7th, 1932 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Feliz and Gertrude (Nauman) Bequette, who both preceded him in death.

He married Margie Moore on July 24th, 1954. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Mark and Christina Bequette, John Michael "Mike" Bequette, all of St. Mary, Terry and Jerrie Bequette and Duane and Lisa Bequette, all of Ste. Genevieve, and Scott and Jeannie Bequette of Linn; 13 grandchldren; and four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters and in laws: Felix Bequette, Norma Myers, Gerald and Patsy Bequette and Carol Fallert, all of Ste. Genevieve and Robert and Darlene Bequette of St. Mary; and other relatives and many dear friends.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was a member of the International Order of Boiler Makers, past commander of American Legion Post No. 150, active parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zell, Holy Name Society and was an excellent ballplayer.

Visitation will be 5-8 this (Thursday, July 5th) evening at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The American Legion service begins at 7 p.m.

A funeral mass for 74-year-old John Peter Bequette of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Hanson will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care, Inc., St. Joseph School or Masses.
