Francis ‘Franz’ Greminger

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 for 87-year-old Francis "Franz" Greminger of Ste. Genevieve who died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 25, 1920 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Trautman) Greminger who both preceded him in death.

He married Anna Mae "Patsy" Steiger on August 21, 1943 and she survives in Ste. Genevieve.

Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Greminger of Desloge and Roger Greminger of Ste. Genevieve, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by a sister.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 150 and VFW Post No. 2210. He served as a volunteer fireman with the Ste. Genevieve Fire Department for many years and played on the first football team at Ste. Genevieve High School.

He served in World War II in the U.S. Army with Company F, 326th Glider Infanty, 13th Airborne Division. He was retired from Mississippi Lime Company.

Visitation will be 4-8 this (Friday, July 27, 2007) evening at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The American Legion and VFW service will be at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass for 87-year-old Francis "Franz" Greminger will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Valle Springs Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
