Daniel J. Berkbigler

A funeral will be held Thursday, July 26th, 2007 for 76-year-old Daniel J. Berkbigler, who died Monday, July 23rd at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

He was born Friday, March 20th, 1931 in Perryville, the son of Daniel and Mabel (Miget) Berkbigler, who both preceded him in death.

He married Mary Ann Otte on July 10, 1954. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.

He is also survived by three sons and two daughters in law: Bill and Julie Berkbigler of Pleasant Hope and Mark and Regina Berkbigler of Ste. Genevieve and Jim Berkbigler and his special friend, Cheryl, of Ste. Genevieve; two daughters and sons in law, Ann and Jerry Cowley of Jefferson City and Jane and Glen Kraenzle of Ste. Genevieve; six sisters and brothers in law: Marie and John Hinni of Cape Girardeau, Rose and Bob Stenech of Tucson, Arizona, Nina and Bill Gross of Godfrey, Illinois, Merle and Eddie Bradford of Cassville, Pearl and Bill Moore of Louisiana, and Anna Mae and Larry Balsman of Miami, Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Berkbigler.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1037 and the American Legion Post No. 150.

He owned and operated Otte Cleaners along with his wife Mary Ann for over 40 years.

Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home Wednesday, July 25th from 4-8 p.m.

A funeral for 76-year-old Daniel J. Berkbigler of Ste. Genevieve, will be held at 12 noon Thursday, July 26th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Raymond Oge will officiate.

Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery.
