Francis A. Basler

A funeral will be held Thursday, December 20th, 2007 for 88-year-old Francis A. Basler of Ste. Genevieve, who died Monday, December 17th at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 26th, 1919 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Lawrence Basler and Josephine (Wolk) Basler, who both preceded him in death.

He married Marcella M. Jenkins on October 12th, 1946.

He is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Francene and William Siebert and Melissa A. "Cricket" and Steve Ubinger, all of Ste. Genevieve; two brothers and sisters in law, Walter and Jean Basler of Ste. Genevieve and Leonard and Jean Basler of Oakville; two sisters, Betty Samples and Estella Kertz, both of Ste. Genevieve; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A son, Rodney Basler; two brothers, Edwin Basler and Dr. Albert Basler; two sisters, Olivia Trautman and Lola Trautman; and grandson Jeffery Siebert also preceded him in death.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post No. 150.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. An American Legion service begins at 10 a.m.

A funeral for 88-year-old Francis A. Basler of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Clark Maes will officiate.

Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be rendered by VFW Post 2210.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to American Legion Post No. 150.
