Valentine H ‘Valle’ Grass

A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 for 92-year-old Valentine H. "Valle" Grass of Bloomsdale, who died Sunday, October 8th at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

He was born September 12th, 1914 in Zell, the son of Frank and Annie (Ritter) Grass, who both preceded him in death.

He married Florence P. Parmer on June 3rd, 1942. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons and daughters in law: Donald "Doc" and Joyce Grass of St. Mary and David "Dave" and Sharon Grass of Ste. Genevieve; five daughters and three sons in law: Earline Grass of Bloomsdale, Charline and Delbert Basler of Bloomsdale, Kathleen "Kathy" and Terry Zerwig of Bloomsdale, Betty and Ron Donze of St. Louis and Sandra "Sandy" Bedwell of Chester; a brother: Arthur "Artie" Grass of Arnold; a sister: Helen Naeger of Zell; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by: a son: Urban Grass; a daughter: Laura Grass; a daughter in law, Sharon "Jane" Grass; two sons in law: Roger Lalumondiere and Dennis "Dude" Schweigert; two brothers: Nick and Leo Grass; and five sisters: Julia Huck, Theresa LaRose, Alice Walker, Edna Herman and Marie Grass.

He was the founder of the Zell Deer Club.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 10th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 92-year-old Valentine H. "Valle" Grass of Bloomsdale will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 11th at the St. Agnes Church in Bloomsdale. The Revs. Clark Maes and Monsignor James Hanson will co-officiate.

Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Zell.

Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Parish in Zell.
