A funeral was held today, Monday, March 27, 2006, for 88-year-old Arthur J. Grither of Ste. Genevieve, who died Friday, March 24th at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 6, 1917 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Joseph A. and Elizabeth F. (Koller) Grither, who both preceded him in death.

He married Gladys C. Fallert on April 15, 1942. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his adopted daughter and her husband, Mary Lou and Tom Kertz of Ste. Genevieve; three grandchildren: Gene, and his wife Kris, Kertz of Bloomsdale, Tony Kertz of Washington, Illinois and Matt Kertz of Mansfield, Texas; great grandchildren: Jeremy, Nicholas, Nicole and Adam Kertz; and a brother, Stanley Grither of Fenton.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Jean Grither; and a sister, Erna Schilly.

A funeral for 88-year-old Arthur J. Grither of Ste. Genevieve was held today, Monday, March 27th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Raymond Oge officiated. Burial was in the Valle Spring Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospicecare, Inc. or to Masses.

The Basler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
