Joseph F. Basden

A funeral will be held Wednesday, June 14th for 87-year-old Joseph F. Basden of Ste. Genevieve, who died Sunday, June 11th at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center.

He was born July 23, 1918 in Arcadia, the son of Joseph E. Basden and Mary (Celistle) Basden who both preceded him in death.

He married Zelma Young.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Valencia and Vickie Parker, both of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Dolores Rose of Port Lavaca, Texas; a son, James Basden of St. Louis, four stepsons, Dennis Stainway of House Springs, Ronald Ruple of Bethalto, Illinois, John and his wife Betty Ruple of St. Louis, Derrell Ruple of Victoria, Texas; a brother, Albert Basden of Ste. Genevieve; three sisters, Margaret Sinclair of Phoenix, Arizona, Violet Tewksbury of Genda, Illinois, and Alta Lollor of Ray, Michigan; a sister in law, Violet Basden of Pilot Knob; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Graham and his second wife, Elvera Stainway; and a brother, Frank Basden.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13th at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 87-year-old Joseph F. Basden of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14th at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
