Jerry Vernon Farris

A funeral will be held Saturday, July 8th, 2006 for 72-year-old Jerry Vernon Farris of Ste. Genevieve, who died Wednesday, July 5th at his home.

He was born June 9th, 1934 in Potosi, the son of Lewis and Leona (Volner) Farris, who both preceded him in death.

He married Marie Griffard on November 27th, 1968. She survives.

He is also survived by daughters and sons in law: Cheryl and Larry Gross of Chester, Mary and Dennis Crader of Chaffee, Theresa and Dale Doll of Fayette, Margaret and John Kester of Cape Girardeau; sons and daughters in law: Henry Brace of Ste. Genevieve and Tom and Cheryl Brace of Ste. Genevieve; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Muriel Pfaff of Ste. Genevieve.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Farris and a niece, Terry Pfaff.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 7th at the Wood Family Funeral Home.

A funeral mass for 72-year-old Jerry Vernon Farris of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Masses or a charity of the donor's choice.
