Florence M. (Schweiss) Basler

A funeral will be held Monday, July 17th, 2006 for 90-year-old Florence M. (Schweiss) Basler of Ste. Genevieve, who died Thursday, July 13th at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 21st, 1915 in River aux Vases, the daughter of August Schweiss and Mary (Grass) Schweiss who both preceded her in death.

She married Vincent A. Basler on May 6th, 1941. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Wayne F. and Betty Basler of Ste. Genevieve; a daughter and son in law, Mary Kay and David Schweigert of Bloomsdale; eight grandchildre; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Elizabeth Shuh, Anna Kist and Ottilia Meyer and eight brothers: Frank, Andy, Leo, Florian, Harry, Eddie, Joseph and Ray Schweiss.

She was a member of the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 16th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 90-year-old Florence M. (Schweiss) Basler of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 17th at St. Agnes Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Oge and Deacon Jim Basler will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Valle Schools Foundation or to the St. Agnes Parish.
