Donald R. Basler

A funeral will be held Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 for 73-year-old Donald R. Basler of Ste. Genevieve who died Saturday at his residence.

He was born April 22nd, 1932 in Coffman, the son of Frank X. and Grace M. (Martin) Basler, who both preceded him in death.

He married Mildred A. Basler on September 15th, 1950. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.

He is also survived by three sons and daughters in law, Donald J. and Sheila Basler, Michael R. and Norma Basler and Jeffrey A. and Amy Basler, all of Ste. Genevieve; five grandchildren, Shelly, and her spouse Dave Grass and Jason, Leah, Jenna and Jacob Basler; and four great grandchildren, Brady, Kara, Emily and Clayton Grass.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Ray, Henry, Lester, William and Chris Basler; and one sister, Mary Ann Basler.

He worked for the Missouri State Highway Department for over 40 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., this (Monday, February 13th) afternoon and evening at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 73-year-old Donald R. Basler of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 14th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Masses or to Amheart Hospice.
