A funeral will be held Friday, April 21^st, 2006 for 80-year-old Edward F. Brands, Sr., formerly of Ste. Genevieve, who died Sunday, April 16^th, 2006 at John Cochran V. A. Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born October 2^nd, 1925 in Leopold, the son of William and LaSettie (Brauer) Brands. They preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy Lopez August 6^th, 1947. She preceded him death.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Edward Brands, Jr. of St. Peters, Bill and Roxanna Brands of Farmington; a daughter and son in law, Beanie and Tom Simpson of Cedar Hill; six sisters and two brothers in law, Alma Sipes of St. Charles, Martha Peters of Lutesville, Irene Phelps of CA, Dorothy Murphy of Maryland Heights, Erma and Ralph Van Gennip of St. Charles, Marie and Jerry Collinson of Troy; six grandchildren, Rose Marie, Sam, Lisa, Anita, Anthony, Wyatt; six great grandchildren, Jesse, Travis, Andrew, Alexander, Maci and Maddy.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Bands.

He was a member of American Legion Post 150, and V. F. W. Post 2210.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 20^th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 80-year-old Edward F. Brands, Sr., formerly of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21^st, 2006 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Valle Spring Cemetery.
