Clare ‘Jerry’ Clapsaddle Jr. A funeral will be held Sunday, October 9th, 2005 for 79-year-old Clare "Jerry" Clapsaddle Jr. of Ste. Genevieve, who died Monday, October 3rd at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. He was born December 27th, 1925 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Clare J. Clapsaddle Sr. and Hazel (Broder) Clapsaddle who both preceded him in death. He married Mary Katherine Dowling. She preceded him in death. Survivors include: three sons, James Clare Clapsaddle, Michael Jerome Clapsaddle and Donald Dean Clapsaddle, all of East Alton, Illinois; three stepdaughters, Ruth McDonald of Evergreen Park, Illinois, Kelly Cantellion of Tinley Park, Illinois, and Mary Knoska of Tinley Park, Illinois; a brother, Donald Clapsaddle of Schenectedy, New York; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A sister, Mary Elise McFadden, also preceded him in death. He was a retired teacher in the Chicago Archdiocese. He was a member of the Ste. Genevieve Lions Club, VFW Post No. 2210, American Legion Post No. 150, Park Board and he was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Ste. Genevieve. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, October 8th and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, October 9th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The VFW and American Legion will gather at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A funeral for 79-year-old Clare "Jerry" Clapsaddle of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 9th at the First Presbyterian Church in Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Tisha Mundy will officiate. Burial will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery. |
