Francis J. ‘Buck’ Basler A funeral was held today Monday, July 27th, 2005 for 83-year-old Francis J. "Buck" Basler of Ste. Genevieve who died Saturday, June 25th at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. He was born September 20th, 1921 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Ignatius and Appolonia (Basler) Schmeiderer, who both preceded him in death. He married LaVerne L. Huck on January 18th, 1947. She preceded him in death. Survivors include: two sons and a daughter in law, Leon Basler of Bismark, South Dakota and Terry "Little Buck" and Luanne Basler of Ste. Genevieve; a brother and sister in law, Henry "Pumpkin" and Beulah Schmeiderer of Ste. Genevieve and a sister, Emogene Nickelson of Ste. Genevieve; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 133 and the VFW Post No. 2210 in Ste. Genevieve. A funeral for 83-year-old Francis J. "Buck" Basler of Ste. Genevieve was held at 10 a.m. today, Monday, June 27th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Dennis Heck officiated. Burial was at the Valle Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or to St. Jude Children's Hospital. The Basler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
