A funeral will be held Thursday, July 7th, 2005 for 93-year-old Oscar R. Grass of Ste. Genevieve who died Monday, July 4th at Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born November 6th, 1911 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Frank X. and Johanna (Schilly) Grass who both preceded him in death.

He married Catherine Kavanaugh on September 24th, 1931. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters in law, Larry R. and Marie Grass and Roger W. and Sharon Grass, all of Ste. Genevieve and Terry L. and Clarita Grass of Zell; a daughter and son in law, Patricia and Clifford Joggerst of River aux Vases; a daughter in law, Donna Grass of St. Charles; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by: a son, Jim Grass; eight brothers, Harry, Andrew, Edward, Alfred, Norman, Joseph, George and Herbert Grass; six sisters, Elizabeth Zerwig, Julietta Baechle, Katherine Fallert, Marie Grass, Genevieve Newheisel and Sr. Jane Francis Grass.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1037.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral for 93-year-old Oscar R. Grass of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7th, 2005 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.
