Russell J. Brace

A funeral will be held Saturday, December 24th, 2005 for 78-year-old Russell J. Brace of Ste. Genevieve who died Wednesday, December 21st at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born July 4th, 1927 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Harvey and Donna (Weller) Brace who both preceded him in death.

He married Loretta R. Jokerst on May 22nd, 1958. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.

He is also survived by three sons, Gary Brace of Ste. Genevieve, Jim and his wife Barb Brace of Bloomsdale and Russell Brace Jr. of Ste. Genevieve and his fiancee, Debbie Zerwig; two daughters and a son in law, Debbie and Dale Pfaff of Ste. Genevieve and Cindy Kemper of Ste. Genevieve; a sister, Doris Bayuk of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren, Chris Griffard, Niki Weibrecht, Stephanie Gegg, Zach Brace, Jodi Brown, Waylon Brace, Travis Pfaff, Quinn Brace, Cary Kemper and Amanda Pfaff; and 10 great grandchildren, Allison Griffard, Brenden and Hailey Weibrecht, Whitley, Mason and Jillian Hegg, Riley Brown, Will and Jack Brace and Jesslynn Kemper.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert and Francis Brace and Jack Germer and a sister, Mary Long.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion Post No. 150 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2210.

He was employed by Elder Manufacture, Sel-Mor and Miss Elaine for 50 years.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 23rd at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

VFW and American Legion services will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m.

A funeral for 78-year-old Russell J. Brace of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 23rd at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Valle Schools Foundation or to Masses.
