Clarence Dowdy Jr.

A funeral will be held Friday, June 25th, 2004 for 74-year-old Clarence Dowdy Jr. of Minnith who died at his residence Tuesday, June 22nd.

He was born February 18th, 1930 in Hornersville, the son of Clarence Dowdy Sr. and Beulah (Wilson) Dowdy, who both preceded him in death.

He married Blanche Lomax on April 4th, 1952.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters in law, Dennis and Gail Dowdy of Ste. Genevieve, John and Vicki Dowdy of Kansas City and James and Darleen Dowdy of Perryville; four daughters and four sons in law, Judy and Jerry LeClere of St. Mary, Susan and Danny Abernathy of Brewer, Cathy and Joe Coffman of Minnith and Sandy and Larry Boland of Minnith; two sisters and one brother in law, Catherine and Wink Rauls of Blytheville, Arkansas and Audra Stotler of Steelville; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

One grandchild also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Saline Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 226, Shriners, VFW Post No. 2210 and American Legion Post No. 150.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 24th at the Saline Baptist Church. A Masonic service will be held at 7 and an Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral for 74-year-old Clarence Dowdy Jr. of Minnith will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25th at the Saline Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Minnith Cemetery in Minnith. The Rev. Steve Berry will officiate.
