Laverne L. Basler

A funeral will be held Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 for 82-year-old Laverne L. Basler of Ste. Genevieve who died Sunday, January 25th, at his residence.

She was born February 8th, 1921 in Ste. Genevieve, to the late John and Anna (Schmeider) Heck. 

She is survived by husband Francis Basler of Ste. Genevieve. Other survivors include: two sons and daughters in law, Terry Basler and wife Luanne of Ste. Genevieve and Leon Basler of Bismarck, N.D.; 5 grandchildren, Jaime Aasen of Minnesota, Kim Heberlie and Beth Basler, both of Ste. Genevieve, Luke Basler and Cristen Basler, both of Camp Crook, S.D.; one great grandchild, Drake Aasen; three sisters, Leona Graham, Anna Heck and Vernetta Heck, all of Perryville; a brother, Vernon Heck of St. Louis; sisters-in-law Melda Heck and Ruth Heck, both of Perryville. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.

She was a member of the VFW Post No. 2210 Ladies' Auxillary and the American Legion Post No. 150 in Ste. Genevieve.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today (Tuesday, January 27th, 2004) at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 82-year-old Laverne L. Basler of Ste. Genevieve will be held Wednesday, January 28th at 10 a.m. in the Wood Family Funeral Home chapel. The Reverend Dennis Heck will officiate. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Catholic Cemetery.
