Norbert J. ‘Chub’ Giesler A funeral will be held Tuesday, October 7th, 2003 for 84-year-old Norbert J. "Chub" Giesler of St. Mary, who died Saturday, October 4th at the Perry County Nursing Home. He was born July 6th, 1919 in St. Mary, the son of William F. Giesler and Hazel (Lawrence) Giesler who both preceded him in death. He married Thelma R. Breig on May 20, 1939 in St. Mary. Survivors include: a son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Darlene Giesler of Ozora; a daughter and son in law, Donna and Quentin Manion of Perryville; a brother and sister in law, Adrian and Betty Giesler of Perryville; four grandchildren, Shelly Powderly, David Manion, Dr. Loren Giesler and Aaron Giesler; and 10 great grandchildren. A sister, Lucille Thomure; and a brother, Glennon Giesler, also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1037, St. Mary Chamber of Commerce, member of the board of directors of First State Community Bank in St. Mary, past president of Giesler Brothers Construction and Ste. Gen Ready Mix Concrete. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. this (Monday, October 6th) afternoon and evening at the Basler Funeral Home in St. Mary. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral for 84-year-old Norbert J. "Chub" Giesler will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 7th at the Immaculate Conception Church in St. Mary. Bury will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Richard Kasznel will officiate. Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice or Immculate Conception Church. |
