Edgar E. Akins

A funeral will be held Friday, February 22nd, 2003 for 73-year-old Edgar E. Akins of Bloomsdale who died Wednesday, February 19th at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sunday, June 30th, 1929 in Kinsey, the son of Lewis E. Akins and Bertha M. (Erb) Akins, who both preceded him in death.

A son, Larry Akins, of Ste. Genevieve, survives him.

Six daughters and five sons in law survive: Sharon and Darrell Wittu of Bloomsdale, Theresa and Dale Scherer, Janet Cox, Dolores "Dodie" and Bob Gadell, and Kathy and Wayne Deimund, all of Ste. Genevieve and Debbie and Bo Fox of Bloomsdale.

The mother of his children, Dorothy M. Akins of Bloomsdale, also survives him.

Two brothers and sisters in law survive: Donald and Doris Akins of Bradenton, Florida and Joel and Ethel Akins of Bloomsdale.

One sister and brother in law survives: Flossie and Jesse Eades of Potosi.

Thirteen grandchildren and two great great grandchildren survive.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rhoda Akins and Mary Harmon; and three brothers, Albert, Raymond and Robert Akins.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. this (Thursday, February 20th) afternoon and evening at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 73-year-old Edgar E. Akins of Bloomsdale will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 21st at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be at the Akins Family Cemetery in Bloomsdale.
