A funeral will be held Friday, September 20th, 2002 for 99-year-old Emma R. Hurst of Ste. Genevieve, who died Tuesday, September 17th at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Sainte Genevieve.

She was born October 23rd, 1902 in Weingarten, the daughter of Frank Schuler and Josephine (Hogenmiller) Schuler, who both preceded her in death.

She married William Hurst on June 30th, 1930 in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. He also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Schwent of Ste. Genevieve and the following grandchildren: Michelle Hollman, Denise Bowenschulte, Charisse Lucchesi, Charles and Gregory Schwent. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.

She was also preceded in death by a son Charles Hurst; a son-in-law, Art Schwent; three sisters, Martha Bauman, Thekla Muessig and Elizabeth Govreau; three brothers, August Schuler, Edgar Schuler and Francis Schuler.

She was a member of the Rosary Sodality in Weingarten.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 19th at the Basler Funeral Home.

A funeral for 99-year-old Emma R. Hurst will be held Friday, September 20th at 11 a.m. at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Our Lady Help of Christians Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Deken will officiate.
