Douglas J. ‘Bud" Brewster A funeral will be held Saturday, September 7th, 2002 for 87-year-old Douglas J. "Bud" Brewster of Minnith, who did Thursday, September 5th at his residence. He was born April 2, 1915 in Minnith, the son of George W. and Rose (Schaaf) Brewster who both preceded him in death. He married Roela V. Counts on September 22, 1938. She preceded him in death. One son in law survives him, Norval Thomson of St. Mary. A sister, Georgie Tomlinson of Chesterfield, also survives him. Three grandchildren and spouses survive: Kimberly and Robert Schilly of Chester, Illinois; Dana and Steve Brewer of Cedar Hill and Dewanna and John Chappius of Perryville. Seven great grandchildren survive: Jessica Roth, Joshua Schilly, Sarah Schilly, Alyssa Brewer, Nicholas Brewer, Shelby Chappius and Connor Chappius. He was retired from Mississippi Lime Company. He was a member of the Saline Baptist Church in Minnith, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ste. Genevieve and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. His daughter, Shelby Thompson, also preceded him in death. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. this (Friday, September 6th) afternoon and evening and 6:30-10 a.m. Saturday, September 7th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 87-year-old Douglas J. "Bud" Brewster of Minnith will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 7th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. Burial will be in the Saline Baptist Cemetery in Minnith. Steve Brewer will officiate. The Missouri Military Honors Team will provide a military graveside service.
