Edwin J. Fischer A funeral will be held Saturday, November 30th, 2002 for 86-year-old Edwin J. Fischer of Festus who died Wednesday, November 27th at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City. He was born March 13, 1916 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Charles Fischer and Philomena Fritsch who both preceded him in death. He married Zulma Reecht. She survives in Festus. He is also survived by two daughters and two sons in law, Kathy and Jim Ray of Hazelwood and Barb and Chuck Westover of Florissant. One son and daughter in law survive: Carl and Brenda Fischer of Festus. Five brothers and four sisters in law survive: Ernest and Wilma Fischer of St. Louis; Wilfred Fischer of Ste. Genevieve, Louis and Doris Fischer of Ste. Genevieve; Charles and Barbara Fischer of Ste. Genevieve; and William and Mary Fischer of Bonne Terre. Two sisters and one brother in law survive: Corrine Heimer of Ste. Genevieve; and Vera and Alvin Baechle of Ste. Genevieve. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Cody Fischer, Linda, Leah and Zachary Westover. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Fred Fischer and by two sisters, Rose Hoerig and Edna Fischer. He was also preceded in death by a sister in law, Anna Marie Fischer, and a brother in law Bob Heimer. He was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1230 and American Legion Post No. 253. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired watchmaker and jeweler; a longtime owner of Fischer Jewelery on Main Street in Festus. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday, November 29th at the Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. A funeral for 86-year-old Edwin J. Fischer of Festus will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30th at the Church of Our Lady in Festus. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. The Rev. John Kerber, pastor of the Church of Our Lady in Festus will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Church of Our Lady in Festus.
