A funeral will be held Wednesday, January 9th, 2002 for 81-year-old Vernetta V. Axtetter of Festus who died Friday, January 4th at her residence.

She was born June 23, 1920 in Festus, the daughter of Walter Govreau and Martha Voight Govreau who both preceded her in death.

She married Edward J. Axtetter. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law: Mike and Cora Axtetter and Mark and Jean Axtetter, both of Festus.

Four grandchildren also survive.

One brother also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus. She was past regent with Daughters of Isabella.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th at the Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.

A funeral for 81-year-old Vernetta V. Axtetter of Festus will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Our Lady in Festus. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. The Rev. John Kerber will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the St. Pius X High School.
