Paul S. Jeffries A funeral will be held Tuesday, December 31st, 2002 for 84-year-old Paul S. Jeffries of Moberly, who died Saturday, December 28th at the Loma Linda Health Care Center in Moberly. He was born October 13th, 1918 in Climax Springs, the son of Willard and Burleigh Palmer Jeffries who both preceded him in death. He married Myra M. Kohut on March 10th, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming. She preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons and daughters in law: Mike and Pattie Jeffries of Jefferson City, and Tim and Jan Jeffries, Denis and Pam Jeffries and Daniel and Marla Jeffries, all of Moberly. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends. He joined the Missouri Department of Conservation in Ste. Genevieve in 1948, serving 35 years as a Conservation Agent and Field Service Agent. Before his retirement, he was Field Service Agent in Moberly since 1953. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Moberly Rotary Club and a life member of the VFW Post. He was a nationally known bow hunter and archer. He was recently inducted into Missouri's Bow Hunter's Hall of Fame. He promoted and organized the Field Archery Event at the state's Senior Show Me Games. He was national champion of the Field Archery Senior Competition several times. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. this (Monday, December 30th, 2002) afternoon and evening at the Cater Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral for 84-year-old Paul S. Jeffries of Moberly will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 31st, 2002 at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Paul S. Jeffries Missouri Bow Hunters Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund.
