Anthony J. Donze

A funeral service was held Monday, December 9th, 2002 for 86-year-old Anthony J. Donze of Ste. Genevieve, who died Friday, December 6th, 2002 at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center.

He was born February 11th, 1916 in Weingarten, the son of Albert X. and Emma (Burle) Donze -- who both preceded him in death.

He married Victoria T. Naeger in 1942 in Zell. She survives.

He is also survived by seven children and their spouses: John and Judy Donze of Weingarten; Thomas and Kathy Donze of Farmington; Carol and Donald Huck of Weingarten; Pauline and Gerald Meyer of Weingarten; Arlene and Jim Heil of Weingarten; Mary Jane and Robert Irlbeck of Weingarten and Christine and Tony Siebert of Ste. Genevieve.

A brother, Bernard "Nick" Donze, of Weingarten and a sister, Mercedes Weiler of Ste. Genevieve, also survive.

23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Donze, a brother, Wilson Donze and a grandchild, Brandon Irlbeck.

He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church where he was on the Parish Council for many years. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member at Bloomsdale; member of the National Farmers Association and Missouri Farmers Association. He was an agent and delegate for 50 years for Farmers Mutual Insurance; county committee chairman for ASCS and a member of WCU.

A funeral service for Anthony Donze was held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 9th at Our Lady of Christians Church. Rev. John Suren officiated with burial in the Church Cemetery.
