Harley W. Holst

A funeral will be held Tuesday, September 18th, 2001 for 75-year-old Harley W. Holst of Bloomsdale, who died Friday, September 14th at Kindren Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born January 20th, 1926 in Festus, the son of the late Lawrence Holst and Jessie Carron - who survives in Park Hills.

He married Mary "Patsy" (Donnelly) Holst in 1946.  She survives in Bloomsdale.

He is also survived by three sons:  Daniel and James, both of Bloomsdale and Robert of Centralia, IL.  Two daughters survive:  Barbara Fisher of Bloomsdale and Charlene Wilson of Chattanooga, TN.

Also surviving are five brothers and a sister:  Arthur of Murphysboro, IL; Charlie of Desoto; Franklin of Hillsboro; Larry of Park Hills, Thomas of Eolia and Berniece Scott of Bowie, TX.

Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Tolbert.

He served four years in World War II in the South Pacific for the Navy.  He was employed 34 years at PPG and retired in 1983.

Visitation will after 3 p.m. Monday, September 17th at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

A funeral for 75-year-old Harley W. Holst of Bloomsdale will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18th at the Basler Funeral Home.  Burial in the Concord Cemetery in Bloomsdale with the Reverend Robert Woods officiating.
