Emmett C. Hawn Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2001 for 84-year-old Emmett C. Hawn of Ste. Genevieve who died Tuesday at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 11, 1917 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of the late Ressie E. Hawn and Ida Mae Clay. He was married to Vernetta J. Hawn. She preceded him in death May 30, 2000. Children surviving are Richard A. Hawn of Lynwood, Wa.; Ronald J. Hawn of Folsom, Cal.; Stephen A. Hawn of Florissant; Thomas F. Hawn of Seattle, Wa.; Rhonda S. Cox of Lake St. Louis; Joyce L. Jansen of St. Charles; and Jean Sadler of Ste. Genevieve. One brother, Donald J. Hawn, survives in Viburnum. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a member of American Legion Post 150 and Ste. Genevieve K of C 1037. He was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Mildred Cupples, Lura Gordon, Charles Hawn, Harry Hawn, Irvin Hawn, James Hawn, Julius Hawn, Lester Hawn, Melvin Hawn, and Robert Hawn. He served in the navy from August 4, 1945 to November 6, 1945. Visitation will be Friday, May 11 after 4 p.m. at the Basler Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral service for Emmett C. Hawn will be held Saturday, may 12 at 10 a.m. at Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. John Deken will officiate. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Valle Schools Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
