Valentine H. Flieg A funeral will be held Tuesday, July 10th, 2001 for 84-year-old Valentine H. Flieg of Ste. Genevieve who died Saturday, July 7th at his residence. He was born February 14th, 1917 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Frank Flieg and Elizabeth Grass who both preceded him in death. He married Margaret M. Schweiss on October 22nd, 1941 in River aux Vases. She survives. Two sons also survive him: Lester and Vernon Flieg, both of Ste. Genevieve. Four daughters and three sons in law survive: Pauline and John Giesler of Dittmer, and Dolores Joggerst, Glenda and Randy Walker and Jeanette and Frank Wilson, all of Ste. Genevieve. Two sisters, Agnes Bahr and Theresa Schweiss, survive in Ste. Genevieve. Thirteen grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive him. A brother, Joseph Flieg and three sisters, Anna Grieshaber, Marie Huck and Rose Mueller, also preceded him in death. One grandchild also preceded him in death. He was a retired cook and a member of the Ste. Genevieve congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. this (Monday, July 9th) afternoon and evening at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. A funeral for 84-year-old Valentine H. Flieg of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Frank Bahr will officiate. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare or Worldwide Bible Education Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
