Edgar B. Holst A funeral will be held Tuesday, January 30th for 83-year-old Edgar B. Holst of Bloomsdale who died Saturday, January 27th, 2001 at his home. He was born August 12th, 1917 in Danby, the son of William Holst and Lucinda Akins who both preceded in death. He married Juanita M. Chism on February 27th, 1947. She survives. Three sons and daughters in law also survive him: Jeffrey and Cindy Holst of Crystal City, Richard and Brenda Holst and William and Janet Holst, both of Bloomsdale. One daughter and son in law survives: Anita and James Dickneite of Bloomsdale. Ten grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive him. A brother also preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked in shipping for PPG. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 554, Bloomsdale and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3777 in Festus. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, Monday, January 29th, at the Basler Funeral Home. A funeral for 83-year-old Edgar B. Holst of Bloomsdale will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 30th at the Basler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. Deacon Jim Basler will officiate. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
