Funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 for 83-year-old Josephine Lindsay Herzog of Ste. Genevieve who died Thursday, Dec. 6 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1918 in Peoria, Mo., the daughter of the late Fred T. Vest and Sarah Salome Crocker.

She was married to Joseph F. Herzog on July 2, 1938. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1995.

Children surviving are Charles A. Herzog of Zell; Joseph T. Herzog of St. Mary; Paul L. Herzog of Ste. Genevieve; Robert J. Herzog of St. Louis; Kathleen A. Battles of Gonzales, LA; Jeanette R. Hahn of Farmington; Martha J. Lopez of Rio Rancho, NM; and Margaret M. Reiter of Branson.

One brother and one sister survive, Fred G. Vest of Lakewood, WA and Lana Mae Cox of Ste. Genevieve. One half sister, Irene Pfeifer, survives in St. Louis.

Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

A sister, Mildred A. Vest; a half-sister Lucille H. Vest; and a half-brother, Ray L. Vest preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 9 from 3-8 p.m. at Basler Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Josephine Lindsay Herzog will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. John Deken will officiate. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery.
