Richard N. Flieg

A funeral was held Monday, August 20th, 2001 for 77-year-old Richard N. Flieg of Ste. Genevieve who died Friday, August 17th at his residence.

He was born June 18th, 1924 in Zell, the son of Andrew Flieg and Philomena Grass who both preceded him in death.

He married Helen E. Kreitler on September 10th, 1947. She survives.

He is also survived by three sons: Anthony and Vincent, both of Ste. Genevieve and Thomas of St. Mary; six daughters: Vera Harmon, Mary Holifield, Rose Schwent and Theresa Wolk, all of Ste. Genevieve, Carolyn Webster of Quincy, Illinois and Anna Winter of Plymouth, Minnesota.

Also surviving are three brothers: Aloysius Flieg of Zell, Francis and Henry Flieg, both of Perryville, three sisters: Sr. Mary Vera Flieg of Ruma, Illinois, Lorena Gegg of Weingarten and Rosemary Kreitler of Zell.

28 grandchildren also survive.

A son, John and a brother, Herbert, also preceded him in death.

He was a foreman for Mississippi Lime. He attended St. Joseph Church and was President of Western Catholic Union - St. Englebert Branch 177.

A funeral for 77-year-old Richard N. Flieg of Ste. Genevieve was held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 20th at St. Joseph Church. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Zell with the Rev. James Hanson officiating.
