Funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2000 for 91-year-old Lawrence B. "Doc" Kertz of Bloomsdale who died Wednesday, July 26, 2000 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1908 in Bloomsdale, the son of the late Michael Kertz and Theresa Eisenbeis.

One brother, Henry Kertz, survives in Bloomsdale, and one sister, Sr. Mariam Kertz, survives in St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister: Andrew Kertz, Charles Kertz, Herman Kertz, Leo Kertz, William Kertz, and Philomena Kertz.

He was a member of American Legion Post 554 and Knights of Columbus 1848. He served in the Army from March 2, 1942 to October 23, 1945.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, after 4 p.m. at St. Agnes Church.

Funeral service for Lawrence B. "Doc" Kertz will be held Friday, July 28, 2000 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church. Rev. Raymond Oge will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Agnes School.
