Wilson Donze

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999 for 86-year-old Wilson Donze, of Weingarten, who died Sunday.

Born on September 27, 1912, in Weingarten, the son of Albert and Emma (Burle) Donze, who both preceded in death. He married Vernetta (Hermann) Donze in 1953, and she survives in Weingarten.

Also surviving are two daughters; Emma Hirsch of St. Louis, Jane Brown of Independence, and two brothers; Anthony and Bernard "Nick" Donze, both of Weingarten. A sister, Mercedes Weiler, of Ste. Genevieve, and four grand - children also survive.

Preceding in death were his parents and one sister.

He was a member of the Bloomsdale Knights of Columbus Post 1848, The American Legion Post 150, VFW Post 2210, The Weingarten JC's, Western Catholic Union, the Ste. Gen Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians, in Weingarten.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, starting at 4pm, at the Basler Funeral Home, in Ste. Genevieve. The VFW and American Legion visitation will be at 7:30.

A funeral service for Wilson Donze, of Weingarten, will be at 10am Wednesday, at Our Lady of Christians Church, in Weingarten. The Rev. John Suren will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the March of Dimes, or the American Heart Association.
